With an awesome emphasis on keeping NZ's unique environment clean and green, requirements to park freely and stay overnight are very strict in NZ. Self-containment (water and waste) is usually a prerequisite to stay at free parks across the country.
Small vans are seen as a little negative in terms of not being big enough to hold essentials and be full self-sufficient.
This makes things a little different navigating middle earth, but still totally possible! This blog explores NZ from the vanlife perspective, enjoy the journey with me.
